Jayil Pak

After graduating from NYU with a degree in film production, Jayil has worked as a director of commercials, music videos, and short films in both the US and South Korea. In the last couple of years, his works have screened in 100+ film festivals and garnered 50+ awards around the world. His last short film Georgia (2020) was nominated for a Korean Oscar, has been featured in The New Yorker’s Screening Room Video Series, and ranked 6th on Screen Rant’s “10 Best Short Films Ever Made According to Letterboxd.” For his latest project, Jayil delved into the world of K-pop, directing a critically acclaimed Disney+ original docuseries on the K-pop sensation NCT 127, uniquely incorporating theater, animation, and performance art. Currently, he is working with an American production company, developing a narrative feature set for production in 2025.
