An exploration of the intricate relationship between a Christian and a Jewish boy in 1942 Poland.

Krzysztof, an introverted 10 year old, faces his father's decision to hide a Jewish boy from a nearby village in the family's house. As the new boy prompts the father's attention, Krzysztof develops a flammable jealousy towards the other boy which reaches a dangerous peak and leads him to an irreversible act.

Muriel Naim is a Film and Television Writer-Director, emerging from Jaffa's art & theater scene. Mentored by Israeli-Lithuanian Theater director Arthur Kogan and Iranian Oscar-winning filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, Muriel opened CalArts 2016 Film Directors showcase at REDCAT theater in Los Angeles. Her films Casper & Javier were distributed to several international companies. An American Film Institute's Directing Program alum, where she received the Irwin & Sheila Allen Scholarship for merit and excellence. Janek/Bastard has been awarded Best Directing at the International Bali Film Festival and Best Foreign Film in multiple festivals (incl. BAFTA Cymru's CBFF, Catalina Island Film Festival, and more). Muriel's films delve into the cores of the human condition, explore taboo, emotion, and transgression through visceral storytelling, and provoke the classical narrative structure.
