Simon Galiero

Born in Montreal in 1978, Simon Galiero becomes coeditor of the online movie magazine Hors Champ (horschamp.qc.ca / offscreen.com), in which he publishes articles and interviews with filmmakers such as Atom Egoyan, Werner Herzog, Jonathan Nossiter. In 1999, he starts with Hors Champ a long series of projections/debates at the Cinémathèque québécoise, screening films of directors such as Brakhage, Buñuel, Ceylan, Ford, Godard, Herzog, Iosseliani, Kubelka, Lefebvre, Olmi. Since 1998, he directed a few shorts, documentary and fiction, like Encore dimanche, The Immigrant and Our jail is a kingdom (Notre prison est un royaume) which won the 2008 Jutra award for best short or medium-length film.
