Jeroen is an outsider, no doubt about it. With a slightly mutilated face, minimal social skills and a clapped-out moped that he can’t show off either, he is not getting anywhere. Nevertheless, his goal is clear. He is very keen to join the group of tough boys and girls in his unassuming rural village. Step by step, he adapts to their codes. Sam de Jong (1986, Amsterdam) studied documentary directing at the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam, graduating with the short fiction film Magnesium. He has directed commercials and music videos for De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig and others. Sam de Jong is celebrated as one of the leading filmmaking talents to come out of the Netherlands in recent years. His highly anticipated first feature film, Prince (2015), was followed by the international feature Goldie (2019). Met mes was selected for the Tiger Award Competition 2022.
