Director Dominique Leclerc spent years depending on medical devices for her survival. Then, looking for alternative solutions, she entered the world of emerging technologies. Posthumans follows her as she meets with cyborgs, biohackers, and transhumanists who are trying to use these technologies to outsmart illness, aging—and even death. The documentary looks at pressing ethical and political questions that are sure to impact the future of our species.

Dominique Leclerc

Dominique is the author, co-director and lead performer of the plays i/O and Post Humains, both finalists for the Michel-Tremblay Prize. Her shows have been presented at Espace Libre, the Centre du Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui and the Festival TransAmériques in Montreal, at the Carrefour international de théâtre in Quebec, at the FIND at the Schaubühne in Berlin, and on tour throughout Quebec. Posthumains is her first feature-length documentary.
