Serkan Aktaş, an award-winning independent filmmaker, was born on December 4, 1989 in Istanbul. After completing his primary, secondary and high school education in Esenyurt district, he enrolled in Eskişehir Anadolu University, Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Business Administration and İzmir Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Science, Department of English Mathematics. After graduating from the Department of Business Administration in 2013 and the Department of Mathematics in 2014, he enrolled in Istanbul Beykent University, Institute of Social Sciences, Cinema-TV Master of Arts Program in 2015. In the same year, he received a 1-year Cinema-TV education at Istanbul Cinema Academy. After graduating from the master’s degree in 2017, in the same year, he started the Proficiency in Art/Doctorate program at Beykent University, Institute of Graduate Education, Department of Cinema-TV. He graduated from the Proficiency in Art/ Doctorate program in 2022.
