Life or Death

A man suffers from a heart attack so he sends his daughter to get medicine for him. After providing the medicine for the girl, the pharmacist discovers that he has unknowingly mixed a poisonous elixir. Reporting what happened to the police, the chief officer of Cairo starts an intriguing, full-fledged campaign to save the man before he takes the lethal medicine.

Nafeza A'la Al-Ganna

An orphan girl from a wealthy family, lives with her depressed, withdrawn father, and falls in love with Tawfiq, a writer in her father's circle. She trusts him, but he misuses this trust and assaults her, steals her father's money, and runs away. Her father only reports the money that Tawfiq stole, but does not report the assault on his daughter. Her baby is born, and she gives birth to her, but she is surprised that the baby is blind and cannot see. She sends her to a woman she knows to take care of her, and she meets a young man who loves her and asks her to marry him.

The Life of Darkness

A middle-class family. The son gets a law degree and wants his son to be a lawyer, but the son wants to be a novelist. The son is surrounded by bad friends, so he is led by them into a life of debauchery and slips into the abyss, betrays trust, misappropriates his father's money, and steals his mother's jewelry to satisfy his mistress's demands, which leads to his mother's death.
